How is OSNR measured?
It can be measured using an Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA). There are many methods of measuring OSNR, depending on data rates and signal types. For 10G communications with ROADM present, in-band method is preferred.

▪️10 Gbit/s NRZ: OSNR greater than approximately 11 dB
▪️40 Gbit/s NRZ: OSNR greater than approximately 17 dB
▪️40 Gbit/s DPSK: OSNR greater than approximately 14 dB
▪️100 Gbit/s NRZ: OSNR greater than approximately 21 dB
▪️100 Gbit/s DPSK: OSNR greater than approximately 18 dB

The OSNR should be greater than 15db to 18dB at the receiver.

HTF will consider the OSNR during designing the dwdm solution. If need 400G/200G/100G dwdm, welcome to contact HTF.
